Operations Manager
South Coast Region - Up to £110,000 + Package
Meriton is delighted to be partnering with a successful and growing main contractor to recruit an experienced Operations Manager for its Building Division.
This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for overseeing multiple live projects and directly managing a team of three Contracts Managers, ensuring the safe, profitable and efficient delivery of a diverse portfolio of construction projects.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in driving operational performance across the business. You will provide strategic direction, support project teams, and ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality, programme adherence, customer satisfaction and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor and develop a team of Contracts Managers.
- Oversee the successful delivery of multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Drive operational excellence across health & safety, quality, programme and commercial performance.
- Work closely with project teams to identify risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
- Ensure projects are adequately resourced and supported.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, supply chain partners and stakeholders.
- Support tender reviews, project planning and business growth initiatives.
- Monitor project performance against financial and operational objectives.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- About You
- Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role within a main contracting environment.
- Strong track record of delivering construction projects across a range of sectors.
- Previous experience managing Contracts Managers and leading multi-project teams.
- Commercially aware with a strong understanding of project controls and profitability.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Passionate about developing people and building high-performing teams.
- Able to balance strategic thinking with a practical, hands-on approach to delivery.
