Meriton Associates are supporting a long‑established regional main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high‑quality construction projects across the South. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant / Graduate / Trainee Site Manager to join their operational team.
The Role
This is a superb opportunity for someone at the early stages of their construction career — whether you’re a recent graduate, currently studying, or already gaining hands‑on experience on site. You’ll work alongside experienced Site Managers and Project Managers, supporting the delivery of new build, refurbishment and civil engineering projects across Dorset and the surrounding region.
The role offers structured development, clear progression, and exposure to varied project types, making it ideal for someone with an academic background who wants to build a long‑term career in site management.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting day‑to‑day site operations and coordination
- Assisting with health & safety compliance and site documentation
- Working with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams
- Helping manage quality standards and project timelines
- Learning and applying construction processes, sequencing and site controls
- Contributing to progress reporting and site meetings
What We’re Looking For
- Academic background in construction, civil engineering or a related field
- Passion for developing a career in site management
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Willingness to learn, take direction and grow within a supportive team
- Ability to work proactively and contribute to a positive site environment
- Some site experience beneficial but not essential
Salary & Benefits
- £25,000 – £40,000 depending on experience and academic level
